Parent's Safety Checklist

1

Use the tool provided with the medicine

Never use a kitchen spoon. Always use the syringe or dosing cup that came in the box to ensure 0.1mL accuracy.

2

Dose by weight, not by age

Age ranges on packages are estimates. Weight-based dosing is the gold standard for pediatric clinical safety.

3

Wait the full time between doses

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) must wait 4-6 hours. Ibuprofen (Motrin) must wait 6-8 hours. Doubling up can lead to liver or kidney strain.
